Wide load hits every traffic cone

Got stuck behind this idiot at Brechin, he knocked down every traffic cone for 8 miles cos his load was too wide...although he did wave in the end!

I came to an intersection were I was by permit supposed to go streight. There was a cop ahead and she wanted me to go right. They had just sprayed all the lines and walks and had cones up, I signaled one more time to go streight, she got mad and pointed right, I was 82 feet long and wide, I swung as far left as I could, ran over both lanes of lines and cones, swung right ran over all the lines and cones, 30 tires makes a mess of new lines, should have seen her face,tossed my hands up and drove.

What else was he supposed to do, he was keeping it a foot off the jersey barrier? All wide loads are permited for certian roads, the states at times don't have clue what they are doing, I have been sent in a tiny town off an interstate, with a tiny traffic circle and granite posts on the inside and sidewalks and awnings around the outside,then five miles of 12' wide road with the poles in the curbing, to avoid 30' of bridge work I could have drove right through. I had a 13' wide dozer on.

So us truckers with wide loads are idiots?? do you know what is required to haul wide loads? months of planning, route surveying, height clearance, weight limits on bridges. not to mention, state, county, city and DOT states which road you can drive on. So no, WE ARE NOT idiots.

@eurodaily I drive a pilot car, or 'escort vehicle'. First off, it's not multi-lane, the pilot vehicle is in the lead. Second, We don't have much control over where we get routed. And if it means we're hauling thru a construction zone where the jackoffs set it up too narrow thats not our problem. They just get someone to go pick em up again.
