How can Israelis justify the killing of innocents any more than Hamas? Do the Israelis not then become what they hope to defeat? It's very distressing that humans have not learned very much even after so many millennia of violence and bloodshed have solved nothing. We have such a long way to go.

Non-violence in the face of extreme violence is suicide. How easily you tell others to commit suicide!

How dare Moyers lecture the Israeli people about killing innocent civilians! He should spend a week in Sderot, and then describe "how he sees it."

So essentially what Moyers is saying is that if there will be tragic innocent lives taken, Israel should do nothing to stop rocket fire. Maybe some people would be happy if the Jews just folded up the state of and succumbed to those still trying to destroy it. Hamas certainly would.
I'm sure that's not what you want, Mr. Moyers. Yes, you have obviously judged based on your experience. (READ: Lack of any understanding of the tough challenges of defending a country)

Non-violence as a modus-operandi is the way of the future...It's the ultimate destiny of the mid-east....which will become the stage to teach the world. True non-violence is a way of FIGHTING....not avoiding confrontation....and requires every bit of fortitude as violence. I post this to indicate what the winning formula will be when all parties are ready. It's the ONLY solution to trust.

Reading the comments on your JOURNAL website, it is amazing how many angry letters attack you as anti-Jew or anti-Semite, then use the Universal Excuse that Justifies 1000+ deaths in Gaza: "Hamas is using those civilians as Human Shields."
No specific situations are cited: just the recitation of talking points drilled inyo their heads thru relentless US Corp Media repetition, with a complete disinterest in scrutinizing each situation for its veracity.
