First of thirty-nine parts of BBC coverage of Princess Diana's Funeral on Saturday, 6 September 1997.

From 9am to 3.30pm that day, I recorded a VHS tape for six hours on long play. Apologies for the quality, the tape deteriorated over the last ten years from repeated viewings.

The tape begins with an introduction from David Dimbleby and reports from Sally Magnusson and Krishnan Guru-Murthy on the anticipation during the wait for the Funeral cortege to emerge from Kensington Palace. Big Ben can be heard chiming nine o'clock at the start of this historic and very sad day.

  • @TheMrBeatle You're welcome!

  • The few who dislikes this, to put it plainly: "You're jerks"

  • she has to be the queen of england and she will always be forever and ever,, even kate middleton coudn't compare with her,, DIANA, THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND

  • @volcanictruth well atleast she was a fair person in her life she was never loved by her husband and thats a shame that a man destroys the life of a poor girl by marrying her and not giving what she deserved. If he didn't love her why marry her?She deserved love just like everyone and just because she was a public figure doesn't make her less human to have a right to live her life the way she wanted.Peace.

  • @San47di i agree

  • i was 7 when she died and i remember my mother crying and i knew she loved her for the kind of human being she was but as i grew up i realized that she was loved by all.She was such an inspiration to all young and old alike.I love her a lot.

  • i rember i was in 3rd or 4th grade, all i did was kept watching it over and over again and i still get chills up my back and arms, and i also rember looking at harry just wanting to comfort him and be his friend. cause harry and i are a year apart.

  • what a wonderful, special woman, I loved and admired her so much! I watched the funeral on TV with my closest friends and we cried all the way thru....it was such a terrible week. She is still not forgotten and we miss her.How sad that she couldn't be at her sons wedding. She would have been so happy and proud! The videos show how much everyone cared, all over the world. It's good to watch the funeral service again and keep her memory alive, always. R.I.P.
