To tail off the last of the 2009 Naska Sanction Tournaments, In which I intended on editing is the 2009 Battle of Atlanta. This is the first time I remember working an edit of this tournament. A couple other firsts with this video would have to be some of the competitors as well. I've never worked an edited with forms from Lady Jade, Micha Karns, Ross Kohnstam, Anis and mamyber a few others. There is some staple competitors in my editing appearing here as well. Such as Tyler Weaver Jr, Mackensie Emory, Austin Craine, Caitlin Dechelle, Marc Canonizado. Along with a few competitors who are quickly becoming mainstream in my editing as well such as Danny Etkin and Mycayla Johnson.
As usual my tournament source of footage comes from ZenInc and Kickgen { Check um out}

  • I'm not saying anything about these kids because its not their fault but does anyone remember back when kata was a demonstration of your karate techniques and fundementals and not who could do the coolest flip kicks

  • @weakfrontkick none of these are Katas, there Musical/ Extreme forms....a newer blend. I don't place an emphasis on traditional forms which are in fact Katas.

    All of these kids have solid foundations of traditional martial arts for the most part.

    Check ZENINC for a lot of the trad forms.

  • great vid

  • @Brickers Not necessarily true actually Kata is repitition of basic body motions either solo or in pairs in order to improve basic body motions.. so technically self defense practice such as 1, 2 , or 3 step sparring techniques could be considered kata or even squaring off with a partner and taking turns and practicing throws and techniques.. or even hitting a board or bag over and over could be considered Kata its not just traditional forms in fact...

  • amazing. i like that last combo!
