Linton House Adolescent Unit, High Royds

This unit was originally the farm residence for patients working the land, in the sixies it became the adolescent unit for children upto 16 years old suffering with mental health problems. The unit was largely split from the main hospital. www.highroydshospital.co.uk

@katokeith33 I was a patient there in the early nineties. It was the best thing that happened to me! I came out a much more confident person, because I met kids who were like me. I recently visited the site again. I felt like I was visiting an old friend. It really saddens me to see the building in such a state.

i've recently started to want answers to my childhood, what happend to me & why, i was in the canna unit when i was 6 half-8yrs why i don't know!!! the next building u see on the video after linton house. little was i to know that 6yrs later i would also become a resident of linton house, this was in 1984-1986, again why i do not know, i remember some good times & very bad there. some i have blocked out. these are the I don't know bits. but need to find out to move on. i'm 40 now need answers

some of the artwork in the school room were mine. i was discharged about 6 months before it moved. weird wierd feeling seeing those pics. wow.

I was there when I was 13/14 years old. I am now 45 (soon). it was 1979 ish. I was Jonathan and has red hair. would love to find out what happened to others. email from one other! Would like to find debbie Lacy or others
