Any chance of seeing a version of this with closed captioning? Would be much appreciated! Thx.

It's already done. Just click the "cc" button at the bottom of the video next to the resolution (360p, etc.) button. Thanks!

I am an adult with Asperger's Syndrome. I could really identify with what Tammy said. I have also spent most of my life feeling like no one is listening. Until I watched this video I thought no one understood how I felt when as a kid I sneaked a peek at a book my mother had about parenting a kid with autism, which said parents had to go through a grieving process for the child they could have had, the neurotypical child.

I am an adult with Asperger's Syndrome. I was not diagnosed officially till a year ago in college, but I started figuring I was somewhere on the spectrum when I was 15. I was happy to be diagnosed. I am proud of my diagnosis. Do I do some things differently? Yes. Do I have difficulties? Yes. Being an individual and having difficulties is all part of life for all living things. Autism doesn't need to be cured. Those not on the spectrum need to become better educated and more accepting.

I find the term "curing autism" to be offensive. Overcoming obstacles is more realistic

kind of breaks my heart a little bit, particularly the part about expressing love. Its so infuriating when people dont seem to try to understand, particularly those we care about.

Same here; well, differing on the experiences, obviously. Still, it's good to know I'm not alone in that regard.

This is just an amazing video. I've had the same experience with other people and my parents not wanting to have me be in the conversation and never want to listen to my opinions because I was "autistic" and not trying to be "right". We need to let autistic people like me be the center of the voice in the conversation and not silence us from making our own decisions in life.

same here. my biggest hurdle was not being diagnosed until later though my cousin was.....denial from the rest of the world, ignorance is what causes MY "depression". NOT my asperger's. i LOVE who i am and what i do. the rest of the worlds lack of understanding,acceptance....that's where my issues come from.

My whole family, except for my mom and one sister, ignores me and won't have anything to do with me because of my autism. I have another sister who is only a friend to me when she is in the mood. The rest, act as if i don't exist. I am so lonely i ache. And i have also had to live for the past 20 years on a street where i get bullied and terrorized. Life should not have to be this way for me.
