These two O Gauge freight trains are pulled by Lionel Diesel-Electric Locomotive models. They are both pulling the maximum amount of weight possible.

The Grand Trunk Western GP7 Diesel-Electric Locomotive has a single can motor and plastic trucks.
The cars the GTW GP7 pulls are:
Lionel made Grand Trunk Western Gondola with Coil Covers. It has die-cast metal trucks.
Lionel Visitor's Center GTW Wood-Sided Refrigerator Cars
Lionel made Grand Trunk Western Auto Carrier with Screens
Lionel/MPC Missouri Pacific Caboose repainted in the GTW Scheme of the 1970's.


The Grand Trunk Western Switcher has a single Pullmor Motor.
The cars the GTW Switcher is pulling are:
M.T.H. RailKing Grand Trunk Western Flat Car with 2 Ford Pick-up trucks. It has die-cast trucks.
Lionel Standard O Grand Trunk Western 40' Refrigerator Cars with die-cast trucks

  • @6709ify Those are the MTH RailKing accessory line Crossing Gates with sound. They were from the local train store The Train Barn.

  • Thanks, Rich. The GTW GP38-2 Diesel Locomotive fleet must be maintained very well since most are at least 30 years old, and they are not being replaced. I wonder what new models would be an equal replacement of the GP38-2.
