This video was played on my recently acquired Kawai baby grand. It is difficult to get the sound I want in recording an acoustic piano - so easy with a digital. And I can derive a transcription from the midi file recorded as I play on a digital piano which can't be done with an acoustic! But of course the Kawai is so much more enjoyable to actually play.
I am experimenting with different formats - I have added the leadsheet with the chord scheme I used. The video can be downloaded free from my website at http://www.bushgrafts.com

  • @fishqwer I believe he's just outlining the CMaj7 chord a little more with G, B (both under middle C) and then the B an octave above.

  • In terms of soloing, I always seem to get messed up on the 3rd bar. What's going on? and is there some way to simplify it conceptually?

  • I know this was improvised and you didn't use a digital to transcribe it, but I would just love the sheet music for this. I'm just learning piano and have really only touched the surface with jazz, so improvising with only the chord notation is very new to me. Plus, you're version is just SO good, it's ridiculous. I might just have to watch you over and over and get all the fingerings if I have to.

  • Could you come to my house and play for me all night long?

  • truly at service to the music. a musician's most mature act ,thank you. PS piano sounds better than a baby grand .

  • just lovely.= )

  • SUPER!!!!! Thank you!

  • We also wish you long life -- so you can continue to educate and inspire the rest of us!

  • Great arrangemet on fine a instrument by a top player....hard to beat. In heaven we all play like this.....congratulations!

  • Great to see that you've gotten the kind of piano that your playing deserves. It and you sound beautifully professional. I don't know anyone who has offered more instruction in piano jazz and been such a great model. Wish you happiness and good health.
