First try at cleaning coins

All I know about cleaning coins I learned from watching Youtube. Two weeks ago I ordered a 15# capacity tumbler. I ran 2 sessions of soapy water followed by four hours of white vinegar and baking soda. The vinegar may have discolored the clad silver. This video shows the intermediate cleaning results after about 10 total hours of rolling.

Presently I have switched back to soapy water. I will post the final results later.

@vcstar5 I bought it on eBay. It is made by MJR. I think they just call it their 15 pound model. In other poeple's videos some would start out with a small tumbler and wish they had gone big. I didn't want to risk the regret so I bought a big one that is made in the USA. Some smaller ones tend to "walk" around on a table.

hi I've been clean my coin from MD with a 3 LB tumbler I think you need to use smaller stones I use aquarium gravel a couple of drops of dish detergent and DON'T mix penny's in it will discolor the quarters and dimes

You should not tumble copper with clad...it will discolor the clad.
