  • This is from a Snader Telescription, filmed Mar.14,1952.

Reeds: Harry Carney, Russell Procope, Paul Gonsalves, Willie Smith, Jimmy Hamilton.

Trumpets: Ray Nance, Cootie Williams, Clark Terry, Willie Cook.

Trombones: Juan Tizol, Quentin (Butter) Jackson, Britt Woodman.

Rhythm: Wendell Marshall (b), Louie Bellson (d), Duke Ellington (p).

Seven tunes were recorded in this session.

  • This work of MAGIC must be between 1951-1955,(most likely 51) the only years Jhonny Hodges left the Duke, to lead his own band. Except for that period, Jeep / Rabbit didn't miss any performance never, I think.

  • The 3 dislikers were kicked out of the VIP section

  • oh my god oh my god... what a band!!! Thanks very much Mister Ellington.

  • This music will make you get up and do it all again, raychapa01.

  • The person who put "Dont like", is because he was born without ears. Poor man.

  • Cat Anderson = ridiculous. Geezus.

  • Sick sick sick! these are some blowing so and so's.

  • Skillage farmin mansion house !!
