Though it may not have been perfectly stated, guitarguy's comment is correct. As Force=Mass*Acceleration, a constant force(Arm) will give smaller objects more acceleration in a perfect inverse relation to mass. Kinetic energy however, given as .5*Mass*Velocity^2, varies directly as the SQUARE of velocity. So given the same impulse, a smaller object will have more kinetic energy. Oversimplification:This is why you can throw a baseball through a window but you can't throw a car through a window

There was this old Chinese lady who could take a drinking straw straight out of the wrapper (like the straws you get at McDonalds or wherever) and throw it at a solid wooden door and have it stick in like a 1/2 inch. Insane.

Ha, Mythbusters didn't prove squat, everything they do is flawed science. A pitcher throws with tons of power for hurling a heavy object, a monk doesn't need power to throw with speed, and therefore can throw a near weightless object MUCH faster.
