  • Very controversial at the time as Alan Parker was not well known and spent a lot of money also made it 60 seconds long were as normal adds in those days were 20 seconds, He then made Midnight Express the rest is history !!

  • Thank you for this! I've been trying to track down this, my all time favourite TV commercial, for years. Does Graham K Furness do the voice over? I always thought it to be Victor Borge. Any idea when it was aired, 70's/80's? All very non PC of course, though I recalled Caesar (out water skiing this morning!) as saying thircles rather than circles. Wrongly it would seem, so perhaps not quite so non PC ;-)

  • @chugalug7392 Hi Chugalug, I am the actor front left Victor Borge does the voice overs.

  • @agkfz OK Graham, got it now as pennies finally obey the law of gravity. A heroic performance indeed if I may say so! Having read Alan Parker's Wikki entry I see the production was in 1979. In those days some of the best UK TV was to be found in the commercials IMHO. This though was exceptionally creative, very expensive I suspect, and a lot of fun making no doubt. In short a classic and at last making its YouTube debut. Now, strike up the band!
