  • @FaxModem1 Clark didnt arrive at the kents farm as a baby. Kal El arrived at the kents farm as a baby. If you say , "he was raised and for the longest time knew himself as Clark Kent and then later when his powers manifested his parents told him about the spaceship", then your statement is self-defeating. You just stated that he finds out who he REALLY is later when his adopted parents told him. If his name was lost how does he know it? Bill said the Superman suit are his clothes not his costume

  • @Bahamute619 So, in that same way, brown eyes or hair is the identity you were born with.

  • @FaxModem1 it's not about persona, it's about the identity you were born with, not the identity you choose to portray. Batman wasn't born batman, he was trained and earned money and chose to use it for good. Superman may have the choice to use his powers for good but the main thing is that he was born with powers/ability, they were always with him, he didn't have to learn it. It is in this way that he wears a mask of not who he chooses to be but who he really is. I.E showing he can fly to lois.

  • @BlueSmoke87 I've got nothing against D Carradine. I love the actor, and he will be missed.

Now, he was born Kal El, he was raised Clark, and he wears Superman. Clark is just a really meek guy in real life. To quote Lois, when asked about her husband. "Come on this is Smallville, he saves the world and then does the dishes." That's who he is, the nice guy who just wants to help.'

As for Bill's point, he should have used Batman, where Bruce is the mask, no matter how old or how fat, he's Batman.

  • @xxcoltenxx1 all of them are lame, they are jewish after all. :<

  • @unurautare2 naa there lame as hell

  • @kuriosity89 Keep in mind that Clark arrived at the Kent farm as a baby. Other than his physical abilities, he was raised and for the longest time knew himself as Clark Kent. It was only later, when his powers manifested that his parents told his about the ship locked up in their barn. Kal-El is just his birth name, which was lost when Krypton exploded, and Superman is the costume he wears to help people.

Bill's point would be better explained through Batman, as that type of persona never fades

  • @FaxModem1 You completely missed the point Bill was making. "Superman" was born Kal-El on the planet Krypton and BECAME Clark Kent. A superhero's true identity is that which will exist independent of the other. Batman cannot be Batman without Bruce Wayne. But Superman/Kal-El can be without Clark Kent. He keeps up the Clark Kent alter ego in order to fit in with society.

I can see the point you're trying to make, but you've really got your shit backwards.
