The fruits, seeds, and arils of an undescribed riparian species of tree that belongs to the genus Swartzia (Fabaceae-Caesalpinioideae) are documented. That species was recently discovered and collected (Cornejo et al. 8213, GUAY, NY) in the Reserva Ecologica Manglares Cayapas-Mataje (REMACAM), Prov. Esmeraldas, NW Ecuador. By Xavier Cornejo.
