ALASTAIR MCDONALD MARY JANE

I don't kow why but this ballad reminds me of the Battle of Culloden, though the words don't fit at all with that fact. Anyway I hoper that all who will watch this video will appreciate my efforts. By the way I am Italian but I love Scotland and everithig scottish.

I've heard the singer's comments on this, and it is about the mercenaries who left Scotland on the run, and had nothing left to fight for but those they loved. I find it quite moving.

GREAT that you've put up Alastair McDonald's fine performing voice & guitar, with this "Mary Jane" video. Interesting what you say about Culloden. Did you know that Alastair has actually written a song called "Culloden's Harvest"? Some think Deanta (who recorded a version of it) wrote it, or that it was written sometime back in history. But it is by Alastair. And you can see Alastair's own very moving performance of it in my Favourites; also some other songs by Alastair. ENJOY!!
