@CoheedMars90 continuing on - the penguins and lightning are guaranteed playoff teams at this point, I think the leafs can keep up with the Rangers even though they have Richards, Gaborik, Wolski, etc. because the Rangers don't have the defensive depth that the Leafs have. They have Marc Staal and then a few other players I don't know about. As for the Bruins, Thomas is getting older and I don't think he will be able to repeat the same performance as last season. Hope for the best! Go Leafs Go!

@CoheedMars90 at this point it's not a guarantee, im just confident that the Leafs have a solid enough team that they have a good chance of making the playoffs. I think washington will be a playoff team as long as ovechkin and semin play at their best. Buffalo got better defensively with th additions of Regehr and Erhoff, but their offence pretty much stayed the same other then adding Leino, which isn't a big impact. The flyers got rid of their 2 top players, but signed a solid goalie.

@BretHardy1 Look at every other eastern team that made the playoffs last year. It's really tough to make that guarantee considering how a lot of them got substantially better (washington, buffalo, rangers), different but probably better (philly), and consider which teams will be healthy (pens). The lightning are young and are getting better, and the bruins are almost identical to the team that won the cup. Frightening.

@4Bold he's a very talented skater and he has great vision with the puck. he'll benefit playing along side Kessel and Lupul. I think he's the most qualified to play with Kessel and Lupul on the Leafs 1st line. When the Leafs also re-sign Schenn, then we should have a playoff team.

can't believe Burke got him for a 2nd round pick. He had more points last year than any defenseman on the Leafs. Liles and Franson are great additions to Toronto. Funny how all Leaf fans just thought we needed a 1st line centre, and Burke goes and gets a 1st line centre, and two top 6 defencemen. Liles, Phaneuf, Aulie, Schenn, Franson, Gunnarsson, Komisarek, and Lashoff. Leafs have an awesome defensive core this year.
