One IKEA picture frame... a piece of black vinyl... a few LED matrixes... add a few drops of C firmware... and here we are!

The LED matrixes used are from Sure Electronics (24x16 pixels, HT1632 controller). The clock is ran with an ATmega8 microcontroller, programmed with winavr and AVR studio 4. RTC is done in software using the timer and the 8MHz crystal.

It uses 24hrs format, as it's what we use here, but it can be easily modified to use 12hrs format.

I have written all the code, but I don't claim the original idea, I was inspired by various similar clocks found all around the Internet, and especially this one :
