  • idiot women! All people with disorders and diseases want to be cured! That's like saying they don't want social skills, they don't want friends, to get a job...

  • @FaidleyEthan Actually, I've improved social skills (taken classes, support groups, etc.) I have a job now, I have friends, but still I don't want to be cured of the core neurological difference that is autism-- I like having a different perspective and feel it is a strength.

  • @whitetigerdream yeah but you recovered from the disabilities attributed with autism, not the benefits because the benefits are a part of you.

  • @FaidleyEthan I haven't at all recovered from all the disabilities. I still get help from a DD Brokerage for some independent living things, go to support groups, etc. I'm learning to work with it for my best benefit since I can't "fix" it. I believe in order to keep the benefits, I need to embrace the disabled part. I don't think I'd have one without the other, because the strong side is a compensation for the weak side.

  • Yeah well I'm not happy

  • I have autism (HFA). Individuals have the human right to treatment and choice. The idea of cure is to research ways to help individuals whom have the human right to choose to receive help. Anytime someone says most individuals with autism believe a certain way or have an opinion are not being truthful. Much of the pride advocacy has to do with abortion politics.

  • I am autistic and I could not have put that better myself; people with autism can and need to adapt the way they are to society by using the positive aspects of their autism in a productive way and the negative aspects need to be embraced and managed. Society, however also needs to learn to accept who we are and accommodate our needs and wants as we try to accommodate their's; it's a two way street! I thank you whitetigerdream for making this video.

  • I'm autistic too, I've never suffered because of it. I suffered because of the ignorance of other people.

  • Yuh informative and brilliant! Glad to come here and learn.

  • So you see there are advantages you just view them the wrong way. Oh and I myself am an aspie and I am 13 just to give some background...

  • Also, some people consider some of our attributes as weaknesses, and they can be viewed as positive also. For example, aspbergers people are usually self entertained, and some people view it as isolation. I view it as being independent (which I think is an advantage). Also when aspergers people cant socialize they are less likely to be involved in peer pressure, (such as doing drugs). They also are self idealistic because they are not involved in peer pressure from other people.

  • Faidly you are so stupid, you don't understand that when you are not socializing with other people in school for example (lunch time) you are more likely to do something productive because you are not wasting time with friends. Having aspbergers gives you a unique way of viewing things and that can be used to your advantage.

  • Lunch time, I usually dont talk to anyone, and think abstractly about the world. Thinking abstractly about the world gives me a third person view of the world surrounding me. When im not with friends I accomplish much more learning about the world, and getting an education. Also, I got mostly A's in elementary and middle school. When your autistic doesnt neccesarily mean your stupid or a downer

  • I have aspergers, and I can agree in some points I dont want to be cured. When im in school at

  • the 80-10-10 diet (raw vegan food diet) can cure autism!!!!! just google it or youtube it for more info. it's worth it to find out more.

  • I'm autistic, i'm a girl, i'm in special school and I've got loads of friends. In my school loads of people love me and the teachers help me too. I know autistic children struggle with stuff and like to be in their own world but I have imaginary friends, i've got two and i like them. There's no big deal about being in your own world, having imaganary friends and being autistic either. There's nothing wrong with struggling with stuff and being autistic too.
