It could be a special effect, don't forget Mythbusters is Adam and Jamie, more than 30 years of special effects experience!.... You gotta question those shows, but still, Mythbusters probably the most truthful show doing massive scale crap

@Budokid - the camera looks like its zoomed in on those 2 guys, which is why it looks like their close up, but they aint really, just clever camera work. also the guy jumping was fake i reckon - people dont jump, they get "thrown" and it usually causes them internal damage from the shockwave of the explosion

Probably just a level adjust and a color adjustment layer in after effects. It's pretty easy to wash out the color and increase contrast.

you must not watch a lot of the discovery channel because that's no special effects that's a car with gasoline in it and two guys standing a fair distance away from it

its fake cause if u actually did that, both of their lives wound be at risk becase of the shrapnel, and secondly, because the guy on the left isnt effected by the blast.

they're about 50 to 100 yards away that's just gasoline and det cord and also they broke the windows facing them
