Babar, the little elephant, has fled the Great Forest and arrives in Paris where he is welcomed by the French Professor, citizens, and La Vieille Dame (the Old Lady). Adapted for the stage by Thomas W. Olson from the book by Jean de Brunhoff. Music composed by Steven M. Rydberg. Directed and choreographed by John Clark Donahue. Commissioned and first presented by The Children's Theatre Company of Minneapolis, Minnesota, 1980. Featuring George Muschamp as the French Professor, Wendy Lehr as La Vieille Dame, Ann Fink and Victor Walter as Babar, Christopher Ryan as Street Artist, Charity Jones as Schoolgirl, Sarah Napier as Flower Seller, Lily Iran Vakili as Broom Girl, Carl Beck as Gendarme.
