Huge Shunt at MR2 race Brands Hatch - Biggest Crash From Best View 17/04/2011 - HD

Huge MR2 crash into Paddock Hill at Brands Hatch during MR2Championship race April 2011. Car 55 (black) - Andrei Bgatov and Car 1 (red) - Zac Chapman collide going into Paddock Hill bend.

Andrei leaves the track through the safety fence narrowly missing some spectators while Zac spins 10 times in mid air! The spectators start approaching Andrei's upturned burning car before thinking better of it!

Footage from BarnettMotorsport viewpoint at the top of the grandstand. Rob - Car 36 was in the race at the time but not involved.

Both Zac and Andrei have made a good recovery. Best wishes to them both.

@MikeLovesChoppers first of all I'm glad that all the drivers and marshals involved are fine. Brands Hatch has added some fencing at the top of Paddock. You can't put fencing on the actual ambulance gate as it needs to able to opened. There are planned works at Brands this winter including at Paddock. The debris fence did do its job in keeping the car that hit the fence inside the confines of the track.Also no Asians were involved in this accident

@fresky74 Paid more? they aren't paid at all at the moment...they would be too expensive to pay any way with the number race tracks need. Motorsport would disappear in the UK

8O oh my gosh!! That look awful!! (why does nothing that major never happen when I go and watch moter sport!) Good video though.
