This minute-long clip from the new socionomics documentary History's Hidden Engine explores the root causes of war -- and peace. Trends in the stock market may first seem like an unlikely gauge of national aggression or tolerance, yet a close look at how bull and bear markets relate to war and peace makes this case surprisingly compelling. After this video, check out additional resources on the new science of socionomics at http://www.socionomics.net

  • well why then during president Bush's career, do we go to war with terror even though he has held office during one of the longest bull markets in history, breaking records up until this month

  • Congress authorized the use of military force against Iraq on October 10, 2002, the day the market bottomed.

  • Wars do not lead society to pessimism and anger. Anger and Pessimism lead society to war.

It's so obvious. And yet we've been conditioned by the news media to see ourselves as powerless in the face of events, rather than to understand that we are responsible for changes in society.

Socionomics is therefore, a life-affirming philosophy of social responsibility; one that is in direct opposition to the conventional "wisdom" of powerlessness and irresponsibility.

  • WWII was started by Germany after the German economy degenerated from hyperinflation. It took a wheelbarrow fool of German marks to buy a loaf of bread. The troubles of the German economy (previously the strongest industrial economy in Europe) made it easier for Hitler to get the German people upset... and direct that anger against Jews... and to suggest that the remedy for Germany's malaise was to begin a campaign to reclaim past glory by reconquering Europe.

  • Not really scientific. This is a spurious correlation.

Also WWII wasn't started by US.

  • continued from last box-it seems to have modified kondratieff wave theory re the "lengths" of the seasons-many people have pointed that out to me-as the seasons he talked of were sort of based on human generational average lifespan

  • can you do some on kondratieff wave theory as well?(will check later if there are vids re this subject on youtube)-and how e.g there seems to be a sort of extension in time to say the autumn and winter recent+current kondratieff "seasons" due to the extended lifespan of the human race esp. in the west-continued in next reply box due to character limits-

  • great videos-am watching them all 1 by 1
