PAST
Veronica Bellino, 24, has established herself not only in the New York music scene, but also the west coast, and overseas. Her unique drumming style is characterized by intricate percussive patterns shaped equally by hard-rock visionaries as well as tribal influences. Her ability was aspired at the early age of 12 by listening to players such as Dave Weckl, Carter Beauford, and Danny Carey. She began by playing shows with local Long Island bands such as Chaos In Candyland and Silent Fate, then later studied with superb teachers such as Fred Klatz of the Drummers' Collective in NYC, and Frank Cassara of C.W. Post, to further expand her ability and technique.
In 2002, she recorded her first full-length album with New York-based hard rock/metal band, Silent Fate. A fiercely provocative record reminiscent of classic metal albums of the 1980's and records from the 1990's alternative scene, it was here that Veronica's remarkable drumming talent first fully blossomed. She also received media attention from college press through this group. NYC-based sludge-metal band, After Dark, recognized Veronica's talent and recruited her for their 2006 EP, entitled the "Resurrection EP." The EP, along with Veronica's drumming, received many positive reviews from writers of Heavycore.org, Hellridemusic.com, and Metalreviews.com. JJ Koczan, the Managing Editor from The Aquarian/ East Coast Rocker describes After Dark as "something which the NYC scene needs even more than it needs kickass female drummer." Veronica stormed the stage with After Dark to support the release of the EP, conducting a 15 day weekend tour in fall 2006. The band hit the road as far south as Richmond Virginia, and as far north as Boston, Massachusetts.
CURRENT
Veronica is currently working as the full time drummer for Favored Nations recording artist Rob Balducci, to promote his newest record, "The Color of Light." Veronica has been performing with Balducci for the past 3 years. Tours consisted of a UK tour with Richie Kotzen (formerly of Poison and Shrapnel Recording), and US shows with Michael Schenker, Uli John Roth, Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme), UFO, James Labrie (Dream Theater), Vernon Reid (Living Color). In July 2006, the Rob Balducci band paired with label mate, Dave Weiner (Steve Vai) for "A Night of Pure Guitar," a week long tour of venues in Pittsburg, PA, Indianapolis, IN, Kansas City, MO, St. Louis, MO, and Chicago, IL.
2007 will be a very prolific year for Veronica. She received recognition with her performance in the lobby of the Hilton Hotel with Rob Balducci, as part of NAMM 2007. She turned the heads of many in the bands 60 minute set, one of which was Gene Anderson, a.k.a PooPoo Man, from the Parliament Funkadelic. Anderson plans to take on Veronica for his solo project later this year, plus dates in New York with the Parliament Funkadelic. Veronica will also record Balducci's next record to be released on Favored Nations, plus tour dates. She had already recorded an 8 song EP in January, with an all female rock project called ZoiRose. The very talented front women, Zoi, was in search of a female drummer above the rest. She heard of Veronica through a promoter in the New York City music scene, and immediately contacted her about the band.
