Just messing around on my Millenium MPS-100...

I've got it connected to my computer via MIDI into Addictive Drums.

I'm running UBUNTU 10.04, and I'm using DSSI-VST to load Addictive Drums, and I'm also using QMidiRoute to map/route the notes from my MPS-100 to the correct notes on Addictive Drums.

I recorded the output of Addictive Drums only, as the internal sounds of the MPS-100 aren't very realistic and have an annoying reverb which you can't turn off!

And other thing, don't expect what I'm playing to be any good! I improvised it all, just a random test to show people what you can do with the MPS-100!

  • Do you use the mps 100 module ?? i want a same great drum sound like you !

  • @niktamer25 I do, but the sound you're hearing, is from Addictive Drums! I connected the MPS-100 module to my computer via USB MIDI cable, and I used a midi mapping/routing software to match up the correct MIDI notes for Addictive Drums :) as Addictive Drums isn't General MIDI mapping.

  • Does the bass pedal respond to quick notes? Just wondering if you could get double bass pedal, btw your very good!

  • @jenniloureid yes and no! I plug both bass pads I have (via headphone splitter) into the tom 2 socket. because the kick socket is limited and can't take the fast input. I'm guessing this is a deliberate limitation to make you buy a more expensive model! I personally don't like double kick pedals, but I should imagine a double kick pedal would work absolutely fine if you plugged the bass pad into the tom 2 socket, or any other socket you wish to sacrifice. I don't use tom 2 much you see :)

  • I have a qwestion... does the MIDI - USB cable come withe the drum set? or you bought it separately?

  • @POkegreis no unfortunately, the built in sounds are rather naff, especially the cymbals! Also when you hit any of the drums lightly, it's the same sound as if you'd hit it hard, but quieter :/ I don't like ANY built in sounds, not even the top of the range Roland vdrums! Addictive drums all the way! :)

  • ah ok because i receveid my mps 100 today !! i have to buy o midi/usb cable too !

  • one word. NICE! :D

  • @ejcottier are the original sounds nearly as good? I JUST want this nice, clean Kit sound u got...^^ nothing more, nothing less!

  • @POkegreis it is good for a cheap drum kit :) bear in mind I'm not using the inbuild sounds!!
