One thing I would love to see in Halo 3 are other SPARTANS aside from Master Chief. What I am not sure I'd want to see are more of the popcorn parasites.

All of the other spartans are dead.
If you could find the books or the "lore" of Halo, you will find "The Fall of Reach." The first planet that the Covenant attacked, and every spartan except Master Chief died defending Reach. Master chief was put in cryo-stasis while Keyes fled in hopes that they could make a difference.
