Bull With Two Heifers At Clack Hill

Thinking about the colours of cattle and how the Hereford breed, from the Welsh borders, is red while Holstein/Friesian cattle are black and white, were those particular colours bred selectively with something of the hair colours of people in mind? It is said that the highest proportion of red-haired people is found in Wales. Are there relatively few in Friesland and Schleswig-Holstein?

Before the Hereford breed of cattle was developed, red was already the typical colour for beef and draught cattle in England. The Holstein/Friesian, the world's highest production dairy animal, was originally bred in North Holland and Friesland.
