Exciting New Large Diaphragm Microphone from Neumann (distributed by Sennheiser USA) is unveiled at the New York City AES (Audio Engineering Society Show), October 2009. Extremely well-priced with the project studio in mind, but exceptionally well-performing to meet the standard of even the finest million-dollar recording studios, this microphone is destined to be a real hit across the world once it is released. Contact the Sound Pure Sales team toll free at 888-528-9703, or email them at sales@soundpure.com for their experiences with the microphone, and for up-to-date pricing and availability.

  • Great mic but i Would not recommend this for any live environment simply cause these mics are so sensetive. Sure sm58 for vocals and an akg for guitars. À great artist should sound great through any mic is what my old teacher used to say ;)

  • @alisonfrenchofficial Well, it's not unique to this microphone, but typical cardioid condenser microphones, and usually large-diaphragm ones are indeed very sensitive, and therefore prone to feedback unless handled very carefully-that's why Neumann released their KMS105 Microphone, which can be used on stage for vocals (or guitars) for Neumann sound quality, but tighter polar pattern with better off-axis rejection. Thanks for the comment!

  • Is this primarily a studio mic or can it be used in clubs without a lot of feedback? I'm interested in using this with the Bose L1 PAS.

What are the cons of this system?

I really love Neumann. Could you recommend another Neumann mic for jazz club singing?

  • @whitebaba For singing, most condensers like this one are prone to feedback, so you have to be careful with something like this. We have had success using LDC's such as the TLM102 in close-miking situations on instruments, but their sensitivity (and cardioid polar pattern) can lead to feedback, and typically do when attempted to use on vocals. That's what the Neumann KMS105 is for- check that out. They are fantastic, and even less money... we also sell them if you are interested.

  • Dawn is gorgeous. This mic is gorgeous.I already sang a couple of songs with it that I hadn't been confident with before. Get this mic. It makes your voice happy !

  • @logixish Dawn is also a LOVELY person, but happily married :) We have found that the 102's really are a fantastic workhorse microphone, and if you haven't seen our videos with the mics in the studio, check them out on our channel!
