Extreme Blizzard Conditions: Dubuque, Iowa (12/20/2012)

This is a video of extremely high winds and heavy snowfall which occurred near Dubuque, Iowa with a powerful blizzard. Standing in the snow and wind felt like getting pelted in the face with gravel (which I have experienced while storm chasing). This was definitely one of the more extreme winter storms I have experienced in my lifetime.

I live near Ames, and the wind was a constant 25-40mph with 50mph+ gusts, and we got about 10 inches of snow. How much did you guys up in Dubuque?

I'd say between 40 and 50 mph at the strongest.  It really hurt standing in it!
