@stevtomato A singer who needs an MTV videoclip in order to make his "music" appealing is FAR more pathetic than me.

The commercial aspect is only one of the many differences between classical and pop. Serious music evolves with the time in harmonic and formal terms, and it's not just something you can always "enjoy" like a cookie: it ought to be listened also with the brain, not only with the stomach. But most importantly, it does not go out of style after a few years of new albums.

@MarcheseCadmio88 Comparing Classical music to Pop music with the argument that Classical music is not commercial (whilst Pop music is) is the weakest most ridiculous argument ever. It shows a snobby attitude often used by people who "enjoys" Modern classical music. Rather pathetic really.

This composition was not written yesterday: if a lot of people still consider it dissonant and unpleasant, then these people should take a look at the last 100 years of musical evolution, because something has changed. Today's idea of melody cannot be the same of Mozart's time, otherwise today's music would be a sterile copy of the past.

Classical music is not like pop-music: it is not commercial, it brings a cultural message and its value is not determined by the number of sold copies.

@rigolertot ce genre de musique est du plus haut niveau: le temps évolue et la musique aussi. Si on observe bien l'évolution des dissonances pendant la période romantique, nous voyons que tout menait à cette "atonalité". Si tu ne l'aimes pas, tu es dans la majorité, mais personne ne vous force à l'écouter: il rest beaucoup de compositeurs et d'interprètes "classiques". Je conseille d'y rester, en revisitant cette musique de temps à autre, ça s'améliorera dans vos oreilles!
