Barnes and Noble took the wraps off its own e-book reader yesterday, called the Nook, and while its very similar in some respects to the big kid on the block, the Amazon Kindle, its 3.5-inch touch-sensitive LCD screen and WiFi support have some understandably interested in the device. Does it garner top dog status, or will it stay at the back of the shelf? We ask Mark Harris, of the Sunday Times of London, and Stuart Miles of Pocket-Lint. Distributed by Tubemogul.

  • The Nook gives you instant access to over 200,000 e-Books absolutely free. You can also read ANY e-Book you want at no cost while in a Barnes & Noble store. The Nook also allows for you to lend your e-Book to others, even if the person does not own a Nook. All they need is the FREE Barnes & Noble e-Reader program downloaded on their computer. The Nook can also read any e-Book format, whereas the Kindle can only read what's purchased from Amazon. The winner is clear. >__>

  • WHY BARNES & NOBLE CONTRACT ILEGAL PEOPLE IN YOUR WAREHOUSES NJ-NY NOR UNION NOR BENEFITS WHY AND PAY MISERABLE WAGE.

  • he looks funny

  • I have a nook i love it.

  • I thought the touch screen on the nook was a gimmick. Boy was I wrong!

  • I prefer the kindle its more of a book experience. If I want a touch screen I would just wait for the I Pad to come out.

  • Some say the Nook does not have enough book selections as other eBook readers because of the limited book formats....Have you heard of the Calibre E-book Management software program that can be downloaded to your computer free. It will convert just about any other eBook format to the Barnes & Noble Nook format and send it to your new Nook e-reader.

  • u can still place an order, i did when it was sold out and i got it like a month later actually a week shorter than expected and im really pleased with it

  • Also, Barnes and Noble has made no secret of the fact people can come into a store for exclusive content and deals. I don't know if this will include Border's (owned by B&N) or not. And, there are still often special events that people find worthwhile. There's probably more than enough to read on either Kindle or Nook. And much of what is inside the Nook can be upgraded through firmware updates.
