Grace O'Malley, also known as Granuaile or Gráinne Mhaol, was a female Irish pirate of the 16th century. She famously met Queen Elizabeth I at Greenwich in 1593, where the two conversed in Latin - their only common language - and apparently developed a strong rapport. Grace received a Royal pardon for herself and her family.

This is a clip from the Discovery Channel series "Warrior Women" which devoted an episode to the story of Grace O'Malley.

It was filmed on location at Kentwell Hall in Suffolk, where the river Thames was represented by the Kentwell moat and the cheering crowds by six Kentwell dairy maids.
