The term "working poor" should be an oxymoron.

If you work full time, you should not be poor, but more than 30 million Americans - one in four workers - are stuck in low wage jobs that do not provide the basics for a decent life. WAGING A LIVING chronicles the battle of four low-wage workers to lift their families out of poverty. Shot over a three-year period in the northeast and California, this observational documentary captures the dreams, frustrations, and accomplishments of a diverse group of workers who struggle to live from paycheck to paycheck. By presenting an unvarnished look at the barriers that these workers must overcome to escape poverty, WAGING A LIVING offers a sobering view of the elusive American Dream.

  • "If you work full time, you should not be poor"..........................true enough, but sadly, there are too many people working hard to still remain in absolute destitution. This is an excellent video. Keep up the good work and valuable information about how people must continue to live hand-to-mouth while busting their asses working 40 hours a week and then some.

  • Get rid of the federal reserve and income taxes. This would stop inflation and stealing almost a third of these people's wages. It wouldn't solve all the problems but it sure would help.

  • Don't forget too that America no longer has factory jobs for the most part. All those jobs have been shipped overseas for slave labor.

  • @Casper39500 im good..my dad still lives in california and i live across the country...

  • this shit is an epidemic ! people are commiting suicide daily they just cover it up!

  • @lauraskye1987 How are you now?

  • If they'd raise those income requirements so more people could get help it would alleviate quite alot. My family is going through this now, haven't bought food in over a month, won't have heat this Winter, barely have cash for gas, my husband & I both work hard but we were turned down for any type of assistance because they said we make too much. I'll have to remember that in the dead of Winter when it's freezing in my house, according to welfare I'm rich.

  • I think this problem is epidemic in America...
