An original composition I made for school. I took home the backing track and just did the lead parts over it. I haven't finished composing the lead parts after the solo (which went a bit wrong) so everything after that is completely improvised.

Also, the brief for my composition was to compose something for two instruments; the other being the bass guitar. So the palm muted rhythm parts are meant to have bass solos there instead.

I'm not a great guitarist and don't claim to be in any way. I'm only a 1 and half year guitarist, and I guess you could say this is to show where I'm at.

Hope you like it.

  • This is awesome! I've seen your other vids and I think you rock!!

I've played guitar for 5 years and I am scared still about my own compostions. They suck compared to yours. You are awesome! -peace sign- Keep rockin!! WOOT!

  • @SnowDokuro Well, in all honesty, I don't view myself as good by any means nor do I view my compositions as such. As musicians and guitar players, we shouldn't compare ourselves to each other. I'm sure you have your own personal merits within your compositions; shredding (or rather bad shredding when I look back at this video) is not the key to great compositions. Just keep going and have fun making them; it's why we do it first place, right? XD Thanks for watching.

  • Great effort, I'm sure that if you put time in your playing you'll become good. I play for now almost 5 years and I definetively could'nt play like you after my first year.

    Keep on playing the guitar!!

  • @TheMylesky Shredding (or rather bad shredding when I look back at this video) is not a measure of greatness nor is it a means of gratification; I'm sure that in many ways, you possess great feel in your playing (such as vibrato, phrasing, etc) which is really what it's all about in my opinion (the speed at which you play is just another tool of expression). Thanks for watching.

  • add some vibratoes when you bend, otherwise it sounds lifeless

  • I wasn't that good back then and I found it hard to do vibrato bends. Now though it's improved a little bit, so hopefully my next video with bends should have a little bit more life in it (should I ever make another video). Thanks for watching.

  • @CCChang3 That, my friend, was an utmost wise answer... You, bro, are GREAT and I hope you never quit the music... In fact, I would like to know your name, real or artistic, to keep it on my memory and so being able to say in the future: "Woah, man, I saw that guy when he was just starting on the guitar on Youtube, and look at him now!" :D

I have absolutely NO DOUBT that you'll grow an amazing musician, dude, keep on playing and rocking, cheers!!!!!
