  • the vocals on this song just goes to prove how much george michael is the greatest male singer in the music world

  • this sng is about boys to men going of to war. in wars gone by there used to be a parade through the town near the docks and the british army used to march past before going on to the ships. he is describing the scene. the album really needs to be heard with a good system. this was recorded pure Dgital at the time and it was beautiful. one the best albums ever i would put this in my top ten of all time easily the lyrics just are amazing.some would disagree but this was his best album by far.

  • The insight his lyrics convey is incredible - no words can describe the feelings or thoughts this song evokes - it never fails to bring tears to my eyes.

  • I remember buying this LP in woolworths upon its release, This song was often played as we fought in the Iraq invasion by Sky Tv yet never went anywhere chart wise!!! Shame....... As well as a 1st class song the album was 1st class too!!!! Ive since updated from the vinyl Album to CD

  • I LOVE this song. <3

  • I love this song

  • @ xwingclass...I agree...I wasn't around at the time of the way but this song and a couple of others on the 'listen without prejudice' album has been in my heart from when I first heard it and this is one of the tunes that gets to my heart....the feeling, the passion. I love it x

  • I remember buying this album in Europe in 1990 right before going off to the Gulf War. This song was more relavant than I could have known. It always bring back that surreal feeling of life on the brink of never being the same, for me and all the other soldiers I knew.

  • @backoffthenet He and Freddie Mercury.

  • 1. i physically cannot listen to this song without bursting into tears, this is the second time i've been able to listen to it without running out of the room!

    2. it is one of the most beautiful but saddest songs i've EVER heard.

    3. who gives one if he's gay, haters are clearly jealous- he's famous, haters probably aren't even successful. BEING GAY IS NOT WRONG.

  • no offence but i could give a fuck less if the dudes gay or not, its his sexual life, not yours.
