From AllMusic:
"The Rain" blew up, a phat tale of a guy who caught his girl cheating, sung in a sweet falsetto and accented with an Iceberg Slim-inspired rap. This Vincent Bell & Russell Simmons production broke new ground and distinguished itself from the norm. The ballads are creamy concoctions, and Juice sings them like a bird; "You Can't Hide From Love," "Your Song," and Smokey Robinson's "Here We Go Again" are Quiet Storm staples. No filler tracks in the bunch; every song seems babied and crafted.
All the instruments on this tune as well "You Can't Hide From Love" & "Here I Go Again" are done by a singer/musician I promote named Jimy Bleu. He also plays drums & bass on Juice's "Not On The Outside". The bkgds on these tunes are by a group then called "Atom", consisting of Chuck Stanley, Clarence Hayes & Michael Abernathy.
