Fifties Cheesecake Dance No. 1

PLEASE READ THIS - This is the dance from the schlock classic, "She Demons" (1958). The film was directed by Richard E Cunha and starred Tod Griffin, Victor Sen Yung and the lovely Irish McCalla in a rare film role. Irish was most famous as the blonde jungle goddess, Sheena Queen of the Jungle (see my numerous clips from that series on Youtube). Make sure you check out the poorly-rehearsed jumping knee-slap at about 2m 30s.

There have been both talented and inept choreographers in every era, just as there have been talented and inept actors, writers, directors and producers. It's a big mistake to think that the modern era is the pinnacle of artistic development. It too has inept choreographers, and it is highly likely that future generations will have them too.

watch the "dancer" at 2:32 she is on the right side of the clrcle (if the dance circle was a clock she would be at number 3) she forgets the dance movements completely and after missing a number of turns and movements falls to the ground before the dance is completed by the group - sad.......

Well spotted. It is truly a sad and tragic moment witnessing that poor individual's complete and utter panic and confusion. Not to mention highly amusing.

Yeah, a tribe of white European women living in the middle of the African jungle and dancing with a fifty piece brass band playing music in the background. Okay, that looks real. LOL

Actually, this scenario took place somewhere in either the Pacific or Atlantic (forget which). But it was not in the middle of the African jungles. Still, it was quite a shlocky movie!
