  • wow That is awesome... I started growing a little over two months ago and I have 3 Tamarinds so far... I have been growing them in a new way, Using a style of drainage I came up with and so far it has been working. You have inspired me to Upload a video of them. I'll do so when I transplant them.

  • @lokilindo Cool! I'm really looking forward to seeing your tamarinds! Let me know when you get yours upload. :)

  • Hi Jane, I guess it is nice to live in hot place you can grow anything. I liven Toronto & I have to grow my fruit trees indoor. So far my fruit trees are soursop, avocado, rambutan, mangosteen, apple custard, tamarind, pomagranet, lichees, 5 different kind of citrus, kiwi and goji fruits. I started planting from seeds 2 yes ago. Your video inspires me because of green earth. Keep it up :)

  • @andrewtubongbanua Wow, those are a lot of fruit trees and I love the varieties you have. I hope to see a video of them, one of these days. ;) Thank you for watching my videos!

  • I only have three seeds. Do you have any advice for getting them to sprout? They've been drying for 3 or 4 weeks now. BTW, I have 2 lovely mango plants that I grew from supermarket fruits. This winter I've been putting them outside on warm sunny days and bringing them in at night. I live in coastal N.C. Also, I'm trying to sprout some of our local muscadine (or scuppernong) grapes which have an incredible flavor. I've been gardening for 6 years now. It's fun!

  • Thanks for this video. I've recently started trying to grow things from seeds I save from the fruits and veggies I eat (purchased at the supermarket usually). But a few weeks ago some friends from India invited us for a lovely dinner and they served tamarinds as well many other tasty dishes as well! I'd never tasted the wonderful sweet sour flavor of tamarind before and I put three of the seeds in my pocket after enjoying them. Now I want to plant them and hve some lovely plants like yours.

  • @4GreenEarth2 Awwww, that's so unfortunate! Did you rinse your seeds? There might have been traces of the fruit on it. Also, make sure it gets a lot of sunlight, I think the sunlight keeps it from remaining soggy around the seed. Good luck!

  • Jane !!! You need to teach me how to get my sweet tamarind to germinate, lolz. I just check mine today and the seeds have rotted - the soil wasn't even that moist (sigh). Also, I'm having difficulty germinating pomegranate. I know how you feel about germinating kiwis down in FL now, lolz.
