The opening is dreadful!

Jean-Joseph Mouret's piece reminds me about much younger "Toy Symphony" of Leopold Mozart. Unusual instruments gives a taste of baroque plenty. :-)

Must confess that I think the opening horn-part is almost "hideous".

Nothing speaks to the testosterone like french hunting horns. When I hear them, I get an urgent need to bring home some meat to my hungry family...

Thank you for this unusual collection of hunting music, including valveless hunting horns (giving it an unusual flavor). Is this a Swedish palace? It reminds me a little in form of Stupinigi Palace of the Savoys in italy (for what little I remember).
