Tim Sylvia VS Ray Mercer

The main event at MMAs Adrenaline III Bragging Rights last Saturday night (June 13) Tim Sylvia was matched up against former WBO World heavyweight boxing champion, and Olympic Gold Medalist, Ray Mercer.

The bout was originally meant to be a boxing match, however the athletic commission changed its mind at the last minute and declared the fight illegal. The fight still went ahead as Mercer agreed to fight Sylvia under MMA Rules with a verbal agreement between the two to stand and box.

If you become good at it you can easily outwrestle bigger stronger opponents because of the amount of technique that is involved. 1 - Little similarity between today's soccer and Mayan "ball game" other than the use of feet. Also losing a game in Mayan soccer usually meant death.

2 - Wrestling is not practised by as many people as soccer. Probably not even 1%.

you're an idiot, the mayans who had been around since 2000 b.c. had been playing a slightly different version of soccer, when they were around, & even if soccer had just started in 1863, thats 149 years, ALOT longer than MMA, so of course its more popular

& wrestling has been around for thousands of years, has it slowing declined & gone away, no its actually even more popular thanx to MMA
