5BY2 residential project completed in 1999 with 38 spaces in Tenierstraat, Amsterdam. Designed, manufactured, installed, commissioned and maintained by 5BY2.

5BY2 owes its name to the size of the parking place that we need. All we need is a little over 5m by 2m, i.e. 10m2, plus a few empty spaces giving an average of 12m2. Comparing this against the 25-30m2 required in conventional parking there can be more than double the number of cars parked in the same area with a 5BY2 system. If you then factor in the reduced floor-to-floor heights that the system needs, volume (m3) savings can be more than 60% compared with conventional parking.
