  • Since the British attack on the fleet of their Fench Allies in Mers-el-Kebir 3 July 1940 France was in a state of war against Britain.

In return the French airforce bombed Gibraltar and there was a full scale war in French Iraq (France vs. Britain), both sides employing hundreds of aircraft in 1940.

That is why many French disliked De Gaul and the British. The Germans treid to exploit that. But since they lost the war, you will never learn that from your history book.

  • The sound track is French. Was this added afterwards as a French programme showing the films after the war, or is this a Nazi film made to be shown to their Vichy French allies during the war?

  • RUSSIA!!!!!!!! TAKE THAT GERMANS!

  • captured or stolen?

    All a matter of viewpoints.

  • All I hear is some French guy rattling off in his native tongue. Shut up so I can hear the explosions!

  • toll das ich so viel verstehe :/

  • the allies and reds really pounded those krauts into submission the end.

  • All cinemas in France, during occupation, had to show that sort of news before the movie.

(The sound track is clearly progerman.)

  • My guess it was shown in cinemas before the actual movie. The krauts did the same in Denmark and Norway - and the resistance would sometimes hold up a movie house operator, force him to show an English newsreel - and run as hell. If yoi look for "Do the Lambeth Walk with Hitler" on this site, you will find a film, that the Danish resistance made sure was played.

  • Wheres the subtitles?
