@p1eces heard this on radio and came to check it for the bass line

@MrDJUwe "very danceable", lol. I read your comment and I realized how ridiculous I look, sitting on my bed with the notebook on my knees and dancing this song, lol

Elton went through a phase where he made his voice sound affected – like his soul turned into a lily white anglican. This was done during that phase. A shame. I would have loved to hear what he would have done with his earlier and later styles which had more blues and soul.

Great song, very danceable, I like it very much! John, you´re importent, your songs, your lyrics, until quit yet. R.I.P. Last friday evening we´ve had a tribute to John in northern germany in the city Plön with three local live bands with songs from John and the Beatles, lyrics over John with Madjazz "John" Morales and DJ Uwe.

i always wondered why his voice sounded higher than normal... its cuz its john & elton, not just john as i originally thought

YES!! That's it! Marvellous! ;*

I agree. Overall, I think it's probably my favourite Lennon album
-
He also drew the Anthology cover

I never really listened to the bass playing properly before - it's very good, not many people play like that anymore.

The bass was played by the great Klaus Voormann, a long-time friend of the Beatles and also a member of the group Manfred Mann. He is also an artist and drew the cover of the Beatles album "Revolver"! Great bass work on this track, too - absolutely!
