how to hitchhike... and how not to

me plying my art of hitchhiking...
a fellow I saw hitchhiking and getting nowhere (he might even still be there), followed by me getting away from the very same intersection as the other hitcher.

I just travelled cross Canada this summer and I'd have to say, Albertans are the worst for picking up hitchhikers. I had two instances where they would pull over and right before i got to the car, they would pulled away. Newfoundland for the win though! They pick you up before you even get your thumb out

to be honest i just did a hitch from Sheffield, England to Morocco, Africa, took me a week and i found that people stopped even when i was sat down looking pretty miserable. But i guess it does heighten your chances if you look happy and friendly

truckers are rarely in a hurry and i stopped a few before that were at full speed on a highway... so its not strange
