no, mats. but it only covered a small area that limited the amount of throwing space. had to get creative and not too sloppy. we tried throwing on the wood but after about 10 minutes, it was too much on our joints. its not like aikido where you just roll around. these were slams.

hahaha, oh please, dont even start on that path. i've done aikido as well and im not saying you dont feel stings with hardwood floor. there's plenty of technique involved in rolling without getting hurt. but a judo slam on a hardwood floor is pretty damn painful.
