SSL died in like 2000. Way to much money. We all don't work for Sony or some big artist that flips the bill. It would take you way to long to get your money back with this one. There are way more powerful boards out there for half the money, and sound just as good.

I dont get how to connect the stereo output back to pro tools. The center in and out is confusing. Can anyone explain how the connection works to get the stereo mixdown out to DAW?
-
@snrose2002 You would need two snakes with D Sub (DB25) connector on one end and 8 XLR or TRS on the other.

@816showtime I believe it's pot on this console, not a fader. Looks like the one labeled "mix level".

WHERES THE MASTER FADER?

Now Jamiesea did you run a go buy one of these and all the shit needed to make it work?

Is there any one can tell me what's the little black box with Madi Xtream inside ...the one just beside mbp...

with cables!!
I had to go there :)
The Presonus Studio Live is a totally different animal. The X Desk is built from the same SuperAnalogue™ DNA as their AWS 900+, Duality and Matrix consoles,
Sound wise, there's nothing that can compare with the X Desk in it's price range.

@Mechie1500 You're dreaming. You can't compare a prosumer desk from Presonus to a mixer fro SSL. There are people out there modeling channel strips from SSL for a reason. SSL are one of the few remaining boutique console designers in a world full of mediocre consumer level hybrid console/interfaces. Read up on SSL before you make a comment like that. The Studiolive is nice but it's much different from this and nowhere in the same class.
