By simply unscrewing two screws on the back panel, releasing a couple of clips, and pulling out the existing memory module, you can replace it with the 2 gig chip and have twice the space!

  • Your info box is wrong buddy, you don't get twice the "space" you get twice the RAM. Twice the space would be hard drive space.

  • good catch.

  • sounds like maybe bad ram, you might put the old ram back in to check it.

  • What kind of memory did you buy?

  • The amazon listing was this:

    OCZ 2 GB PC2-5400 667 MHz DDR2 Value SODIMM Laptop Memory (OCZ2MV6672G)

    I hope that helps.

  • Is there only one stick

like u have to buy a 2gb stick not 2 onegb ones?

  • That's right, one 2gb stick. I think there is only the one slot for memory.

  • How many pins does the ram have? 204 or 240

  • whats better 1gb of DDR2 or 2gb of DDr

  • Hi, nice video.

i have the same netbook. I bought it with 1gb and haven't upgraded it. But it is so slow and drives me crazy (i am spoiled by mac). would upgrading to 2 gb help the speed? if so, is there anything i should know before upgrading to 2gb since I have been using it with 1gb?

  • Looks like it's intended to be user-serviceable. I don't think that was the case in previous models of the Aspire One.

  • Would upgrading the ram void Asus' warranty? (just in case)

  • No real benefit with 800 RAM in this unit since it will clock down to match the processor anyways.

  • You can install a 800Mhz.
