By simply unscrewing two screws on the back panel, releasing a couple of clips, and pulling out the existing memory module, you can replace it with the 2 gig chip and have twice the space!

Your info box is wrong buddy, you don't get twice the "space" you get twice the RAM. Twice the space would be hard drive space.

That's right, one 2gb stick. I think there is only the one slot for memory.

i have the same netbook. I bought it with 1gb and haven't upgraded it. But it is so slow and drives me crazy (i am spoiled by mac). would upgrading to 2 gb help the speed? if so, is there anything i should know before upgrading to 2gb since I have been using it with 1gb?

Looks like it's intended to be user-serviceable. I don't think that was the case in previous models of the Aspire One.

No real benefit with 800 RAM in this unit since it will clock down to match the processor anyways.
