  • You are so stupid! Persian kings prayed to the god of their subjects when they addressed them! If they addressed Greeks they prayed to Zeus. if addressed Babylonians they prayed to Marduk.....and so on! Your'e such an Ignorant uneducated Person!

  • @TruthCeeker333

Mithra has never been in a lesser position among the Persians and other Iranic tribes. In fact most Iranic Kings Were patrons of Mithra! Within Zoroastrizem, Mithra has a Very special value. Other thing is that Cyrus's Zoroastrian values are obvious from his Palace at Pasargad. The Plan of the Gardens and the fact that Cyrus individually was involved in Gardening the way water is distributed all are 100% the Zoroastrian way. And Zoroastrian symbolism.

  • @TruthCeeker333 LOL - my dear fellow, we are going around in circles. Magi are Zoroastrian priests, and why are they in the Jesus birth story? That commandment and the Bible reference to other "gods" clearly proves the ancient Israelites were polytheistic, and this is backed up by archaeology. They worshipped Asherah who was YHWHs wife. The Jewish scriptures were written and the Pentateuch redacted, in the PERSIAN PERIOD when they were trying to stamp out polytheism, they only did it in 200 BCE

  • @ichonoclaster Just because Magi visit Christ doesn't make Judaism infuenced by Zoroastrianism. The "gods" were a universal concept in all religions. The fact that the Bible references the lessor gods doesn't prove anything. The Bible states that "you shall have no other gods before me..." Clearly the Lord demands all worship and the lessor beings are not to be worshipped. But Zarathustra worships Mithra in Mihr Yasht Chap. 30:121. Do the Jewish Scriptures ever direct worship to gods?

  • @TruthCeeker333 What about the Magi? What are Zoroastrian priests doing in the Jesus birth story? Isaiah and Ezra-Nehemiah do indeed most certainly show a very clear Zoroastrian influence - as I have already spelled out many times. Ahura-Mazda created lesser divine beings to assist him - as does YHWH which are called the council of the gods - children of the El-yone in the Old Testament.

  • @ichonoclaster What about the Magi? Isaiah and Ezra-Nehemiah do not show a clear Zoroastrian influence. Where? Zoroastrianism developed from Pre-existant Persian religions which were polytheistic. Whether Zoroaster was a monotheist remains a question because look at all the Avestan Scriptures which have Zoroaster speaking the praises of the lessor gods. Was his name just inserted later on after his death or was he an actual polytheist?

  • @TruthCeeker333 Zoroastrianism changed from the beginning - as Christianity has changed. The Saoshyant - 3 in all - supposedly born of a virgin from Zoroasters seed in a lake - an absurd idea - but remember the Magi in the Jesus birth story. But the point is Isaiah and Ezra-Nehemiah show clearly Zoroastrian influence.

  • @ichonoclaster Mithras was not born of a virgin. Please cite the Avestan Scripture where he is born of a virgin. According to Roman Mithraism he was born out of a rock. According to Plutarch he was born out of a river which probably references Anahita, but a far cry from virgin birth. According to the Avesta the seed of Zarathustra was preserved in a lake which will impregnate three women one day. Not virgin births and Mithra is not mentioned. Budahis Chap 32 verse 8.

  • @TruthCeeker333 Ahura Mazda made other divine beings to help him - YHWH does the same. Mithras the Saoshyant, born of a virgin Anahita, and the Spenta Mainyu (Holy Spirit) is a trinity - exactly the same as Christianity. You are blind to reality.

  • @TruthCeeker333 The DH has value and helps in the study of the subject. The authors od J. E. D. P. and a redactor from the Persian Period all makes sense. The Pentateuch clearly had multiple authors and that is not speculation but easily seen. The Old Testament clearly shows Polytheism. We know YHWH had Asherah as a wife until after the Exile. Cyrus was a Zoroastrian - the evidence is clear, and a gentle conqueror, which is why he paid respect to the beliefs of his subject - that is Asha.

  • @ichonoclaster What good is the DH? You don't need the DH to come to the same conclusions about the authorship of the Bible. There is nothing certain about the DH. Cyrus was a polytheist, unless of course he was just a politician. Look at the Yashts and the Vendidad. Clealy polytheistic. You ignore the evidence and rely on the DH which is speculation. You believe the Bible used to be polytheistic and ignore the clear polytheism of the Avestan Scriptures.

  • @TruthCeeker333 The Documentary Hypothesis is a useful model. Clearly the Pentateuch had many authors, anyone can see that. Its redaction in the Persian Period makes sense because that's when the rest of the Bible as we know it was written down. In the Persian Period, the beliefs and attitude of the Jews was changed from polytheism to monotheism. We now know, for sure and certain, the Jews / Israelites were polytheistic and only changed after they met Cyrus. You ignore the evidence.
