Joe Askins of YoChicago.com continues his drive through Chicago's Little Village neighborhood with a drive down one of the city's most active commercial streets, West 26th Street. The street and surrounding neighborhood is the heart of Chicago's Mexican community and site of a huge annual Mexican Independence Day celebration.

I am so happy that this guy made this video because I am planning to move there in a week, I am very worried about the gang violence because of statistics. I don't have much money, I am an artist and I am white, I was able to find a place there for an affordable price. This video it is not intended to be negative, rather it is meant to be informative. Take it and run with it and be proud to show others.

Suree there's a Jail, Suuureee it's full of mexicans but for the most part it's pretty friendly and it's a welcoming little town :o lol
i'm proud to say i live in la Villita and if ppl want to look at it as a bad town, it's just a way to open our eyes and see the reality of life and no matter what ppl say La Villita is always my home and i couldn't wish to live in a better place
