there are some good points here--its not about how good you play, its the structure and feel of the song that make it--this is an absolutely brilliant song!! I am a musician and I love this version and this song. There is always going to be people that play better then you, but this song has always appealed to me from the 1st time I heard it years ago and it still does today--Im so glad I found this-its outstanding

I loved this version. too bad they don't play in the states as much

@tmenown This is in the original key. I love this acoustic version of the song. Usually I hate it when singers turn the intense full-band orchestrations of their songs from the past into an acousic version like this but this is amazing. I love it. And yup, the audience is drowning him out like they do at most concerts. Idiots. I hate that. That's the reason why I dont go to concerts anymore. But it's alright. I still got youtube. God bless crowded house!

i don't care if he can hit the same high notes or not anymore. i'm going to see CH in Austin soon (first time ever!!), and am very excited! I realize that with age comes differences in body and voice, especially with singers. Neil Finn continues to be an amazing lyricist, vocalist and musician, and if he does even half as well as he's always done, i'm going to be just thrilled to be there to witness it all!

This is indeed a tough song for those of us who are older to sing. I can't hit the high notes... when the song was first out I sure could.

They are my favorites from NZ
He's not that far off -- it's the drunkards in the crowd throwing him off. As a musician, I can tell you this is not an easy song to sing. Are you a musician? Do you even know what key this is in? If not, I'd lay off Mr. Finn as he recorded this song about 21 years ago. Our voices change after years of trying to entertain obnoxious self-important fans who drink too much and think they know something about music. I know firsthand.

Thanks mate for pointing that out. Some people are not aware of what bands go through. Even Russell Hitchcock of Air Supply is not able to hit those high notes as before, same as Neil Finn. They are my favorites from oz land. Touring is especially demanding as it can be a strain on the vocal chords. I am thinking Neil is singing a tad lower at the key of E. But not much difference. He still sounds great. After all these years, Crowded House is still in demand. I'm so glad and so are the fans.
