Located on tribal land governed by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in Cherokee, North Carolina, are three roadside zoos that display neurotic and hungry bears in desolate concrete pits or cramped cages. The bears pace, walk in circles, cry and whimper, fight with one another, and beg for tourists to toss them a morsel of food.

  • bears need thousands of acres of lush vegetation to roam in comfort. zoo bastards

  • The people behind this are ignorant, braindead scum, pure and simple. Do we need any more evidence to demonstrate how out of touch with nature that people are these days.

Other animals are not food, commodities or targets.

  • @threeby8887 most of these bears are raised for that purpose alot of them have handicaps which would make it very hard to survive on their own..do the research bfre judgement..

  • these bears parents and mothers have either been killed by cars and proachers..they hand raise these bears..like people should know..ALL WILD ANIMALS ..PACE THE FENCE..sometimes even wildly..they are feed by their keepers along with vistors..most wouldnt even survive the wilds of NC..yes, i know its cruel to keep any prehistoric animals in cages..bears,lions,tigers,elephants and others dont belong in cages but its a reason why their there...do research bfre you judge o knw yur shit..huuh!?..wado

  • I can not believe that the EBCI allows this to continue. Just because this attraction brings in funds doesn't mean it is good for the tribe. I'm sad for the bears as well as my Tsa La Gi ancestors--who would never condone this enterprise. At what cost do we pursue yoneg dollars?

  • This is atrocious. These bears should be sent to a wild animal rehabilitation center to be trained to survive in the wild, then released binto the wilderness.

  • Native peoples exploit their former nature/spiritual culture, and get by with these atrociities.....white people are "fascinated" with native lore & culture, and duped by the fantasy that these people are of a higher natural order; when in in fact today's native people are just as rank & file as anyone else, no extra spirituality or respect as any other culture. Good and bad and ordinary as anyone else....they do not deserve any more or less than anyone else.....

  • @AUBYgrl13 people think staring at sad bears in a cage is good

  • This is unnatural and not part of God's plan. It was one of our responsiblitites to be good stewards of the Earth. This is not the way it should be.

  • @ananya7ananya Our POW of North Vietnam lived worst than these bears. Nobody bad mouthing them are they?

  • @S3FLionheart People think of animals as if they were human. If they want these bears better fed then they should jump their ass into the pit and see what happens.LOL

  • @S3FLionheart Are you totally brain dead? Bears are wold animals that need acres of land to roam. Tyres are no substitute for their natural habitat. These conditions are equivalent to being in a baron cell 24X7 with no tv, dvd, radio or other stimulation for a human. Not even mass murderers get treated like that!!!
